Code of Conduct

Code of conduct

KSS has adopted the Swim Ontario Code of Conduct and Ethics For All Participants Including Parents/Guardians. This includes the Swim Ontario Photography, Videography, and Cellphone Procedure.

The Code of Conduct applies to everyone associated with the club including swimmers, coaches, parents and volunteers. It is a responsibility of all members of the club to ensure a safe and positive environment for its members. It is important to remember that members, staff and parents act as representatives of the club and should act accordingly at all functions including training sessions and swim meets.

KSS EXPECTATIONS

SWIMMER

PARENT

While you are not a participant directly on your child’s team, you serve as role models. Be aware of this and strive to be positive models by showing good sportsmanship toward coaches, officials, opponents, as well as teammates and their families. You are there to support your swimmer and their team creating a positive environment. Let the coach be responsible for coaching.

DISCIPLINE

Depending on the problem or issue, immediate, informal, (small) corrective action may be taken. The coach may speak privately to the individual or parents. If the coach does not resolve the issue to the satisfaction of all involved, the issue may be referred to the next level of authority. The order of authority is Coach, Head Coach, and Board of Directors.

GOOD STANDING

Members are considered to be in good standing when:

A swimmer will not be allowed to attend meets or participate further in the swim program if the member is not in good standing with the club. This status will be determined by the Board.

Contact the President of the Board in writing if you have any concerns
