Code of Conduct
Code of conduct
KSS has adopted the Swim Ontario Code of Conduct and Ethics For All Participants Including Parents/Guardians. This includes the Swim Ontario Photography, Videography, and Cellphone Procedure.
The Code of Conduct applies to everyone associated with the club including swimmers, coaches, parents and volunteers. It is a responsibility of all members of the club to ensure a safe and positive environment for its members. It is important to remember that members, staff and parents act as representatives of the club and should act accordingly at all functions including training sessions and swim meets.
Swim Ontario is committed to providing a safe, ethical, and positive environment within its programs, activities and events. All individuals and members registered with Swim Ontario are expected to conduct themselves in a manner consistent with the values of Swim Ontario that include fairness, integrity, open communication and mutual respect. Conduct that violates the Swim Ontario bylaws, policies, procedures and comprehensive code of conduct and ethics may be subject to discipline and sanctions pursuant to the Complaint, Dispute Resolution, Discipline and Appeal Procedure. This Procedure provides Individuals with a fair and expedient process to address alleged infractions.
All complaints alleging Code of Conduct breaches should be sent to Swim Ontario. Anyone who either directly witnessed a code of conduct breach, or has specific evidence like emails, texts, social media posts, pictures, etc. indicating a possible code breach, can submit a complaint. A parent can (should) file a complaint on behalf of their child.
(as per the Swim Ontario Complaint, Dispute Resolution, Discipline and Appeal Procedure)
